Gracia Molina de Pick, an activist-scholar and feminista, was one of the founders and faculty member for the university's Third College (Thurgood Marshall College) as well as the first person to teach Chicano/a studies at UCSD. She has been a lifelong proponent of educational reform and has been a driving force in San Diego's educational system.

In 2008 her generous gift-the first endowed fund for our program-renewed commitment and continued support for the Chicano/a-Latino/a Arts & Humanities program minor.
